Meningitis (ACWY) Hajj and Umrah Vaccine in Central Reading (RG1 7LL)

Are you preparing for Hajj or Umrah? Saood Pharmacy provides the required Meningitis ACWY vaccine for Hajj and Umrah in Central Reading.

We recommend booking your appointment 6–8 weeks before travel to avoid last-minute delays. Under Saudi Arabia’s regulations, the Meningococcal ACWY vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before arrival in Saudi Arabia.

Which Vaccinations Are Required for Hajj & Umrah?

All travellers visiting Saudi Arabia for Hajj, Umrah, or seasonal work must present a valid certificate confirming vaccination with the Meningococcal Quadrivalent (ACWY) vaccine.

The certificate must:

  • Be issued no more than 3 years before travel
  • Be administered at least 10 days before arrival in Saudi Arabia

Without a valid vaccination certificate, entry into Saudi Arabia may be refused.

For the most up-to-date Hajj travel requirements, check with:

  • The Saudi Embassy
  • Your airline
  • Your Hajj or Umrah organiser

What Is Meningitis?

Meningitis is a serious infection affecting the protective membranes (meninges) surrounding the brain and spinal cord. If not treated quickly, it can lead to severe complications including nerve damage, brain injury, or life-threatening blood poisoning (sepsis).

During the 2000/2001 Hajj season, a significant meningitis outbreak occurred. Since 2002, the Meningitis ACWY vaccine has been mandatory for all Hajj and Umrah pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia.
